I think people are just trying to look for reasons as to why he shouldn't be manager.

He won't be any good because:

A) No experience - Bollocks. Even the best start without experience
B) Fiery temperament - Bollocks. Some of the best are firery.
C) Selfish player - Bollocks. What would that have to do with managing?

I can't think of any reason why either of this or even all three combined will mean he cannot manage.

Fact is, we don't know.

I remember when he caught the ball on the Everton 18 yard line, we all thought it was because he could see that the keeper had a serious injury, when really he did it to get all the plaudits.

The selfish bastard!

I think he could do well, perhaps because I want him to but I think he has all the right characteristics to galvanise a team - despite his colourful past.

He could be a hell of a lot different as a manager than he was as a player, he's in his 40's now and I'm sure he's learned a thing or two since retiring and becoming a qualified coach.

I remember Poyet being a bit firey in his day, and even here as assistant manager. Anyone remember him chinning Gareth Davies in a pre-season friendly while at Spurs? He's turned that fire in to passion, desire, determination and drive... Di Canio could do the same?
