Or put another way, Prutton's agent has said "I'm getting fuck all interest Dave, better start making loyal noises in the Swindon paper, looks like you're going to be stuck there"

Maybe, just maybe, he's genuine? I know he's been a disappointment so far, but there have been glimpses of what he can do.
He's definitely got the ability but struggled this season, maybe in part due to being in such a shit team with shit tactics and formations.
I'd be happy if he was with us in league 2.

Maybe if he'd bothered to put a fucking shift in for more than 20 minutes at a time this season, I'd have more faith in that. And maybe we wouldn't be discussing who could do a job for us in League 2 or whether we could fit their wages inside a salary cap etc at all.

If he's that fucking keen on putting things right, I look forward to the announcement of his entirely performance-based pay as you play deal.

He's been a disaster but if Doughlas goes I'd like to see him stay. If Doughlas stays then he can fuck off!

I think this sums it up - we should be looking to keep either Douglas or Prutton (but preferably Douglas) to play alongside Ferry.

Could be an asset in League 2, if/when Douglas departs...

He owes us a good season considering the hype that surrounded his signing.

I kind of agree with both arguments. He's been gash, but he may, just may work out without Douglas being here. Obviously I'd rahter keep JD.

Put another way I think he may be a JPM like enigma - there is a good footballer in there, but you only see it when everything fits in place right (or when the contract is coming up).

I'm certainly not Pruttons biggest fan but if we somehow managed to keep him, Douglas & Ferry that would be pretty good for a league 2 club.
