Oldham only had two efforts, both long rangers and both went in!!

Cuthbert was woefully bad. Rest of the back 5 was much of a muchness. Lescinel played some decent balls, though still not convinced he's positionally all there.

I've only noticed in recent weeks how incredibly right footed douglas is. Ferry ran the show for the first 70 minutes before making some slack passes. I'll let him off though because I don't think he's match fit and I love him.

Mcgovern did bugger all, and ritchie followed his normal routine of generally running down blind alleys, diving and giving away petty free kicks. He's the one player we've got who has a bit of flair, but he aint half frustrating. Like Mcnamee, but without the same repetoir of skillz

Andrew is an absolute carthorse, hope to hell he doesn't stay  next season. Bodin didn't have the best of times out there today, but he's young and still learning at this level. A few decent touches at the end give cause for optimism.

Of the subs, prutton dicked about without doing anything of any real note, the fast kiddy ran around abit without ever having the ball under control and thompson looked assured, though by this stage both teams were seeing the time out.

We generally dominated possesion, but showed as much attacking intent as the swiss army. I think it's a confidence thing, there's just no impetus anywhere in the side. it's all sideways and backwards, and whereas last year we had strikers with movement, today we had a useless lump and a kid barely out of school.

Things can only get better, I hope

Oh, Mcgovern can fuck off aswell.

Today has cemented my view that last seasons performances were only down to playing for a new contract as it expired at the end of the season.

Utter utter shit today.

I came to that conclusion much earlier in the season TBH.

Interesting little quote from Bodin, nothing that isn't obvious to see but interesting to hear it from him:

"When you're out there and at the sharp end of it, there are probably one or two players that don't give everything."

What I found more interesting was Bodin's poor grasp of basic maths. He starts off by saying 99% of the players gave everything but there are one or two that didn't. Forgetting the decimals, that would mean either 81% or 90% of the players gave everything.

He clearly didn't put 110% effort into thinking it through.

For a team whose form is as bad as ours, that was the easiest 3 points Oldham will have got in a long time. I thuoght that when the pressure was off that we might have won a couple of games, but no. The defending for the two goals was criminal, lets just let him run and see what happens. I'd like to see the shot / goal ratio of Smith as he's either very unlucky or shit.
I don't think any of the players came out with much credit. Ferry in the 1st maybe. Bodin looked better in the 2nd. Thompson did alright. Storey looked OK.
Cuthbert, JPM, Douglas and rose were utter shite and I'd happilly see the back of all 4.
Fair play to the Oldham fans who I thuoght were excellent as well as those already mentioned i also saw a very young Buzz Lightyear and a parrot - best fans at the CG this year.

Typical end of season game really where both sides had nothing to play for. I thought we passed the ball well. Certainly a lot better than we did under Hart. It was good to see 4-4-2 again and I think it certainly suits us more considering the players we have. We created a few chances. Bodin had a good chance in the first half after a great run from Ferry and Andrew should have scored in the 2nd half from 3 yards out and then a header from Ritchie which drew a good save from their keeper. I make that 3 decent chances which is 2 or 3 more than we were getting under Hart. Defending was suspect at times though and I didn't think we showed enough will or urgency to win the game. Half of our squad is already on holiday now.

Ferry deserved MOTM imo. Played well today and showed us exactly why we've been crying out for him to play all season. He provides a better link between midfield and attack than any of our other centre midfielders do. The midfield I actually thought was OK today. It was the forwards and defence which were poor. Andrew can't be bothered now Hart has gone. I'd have taken him off sooner. Rose was bollocks today as was Cuthbert for the most part. Again only really Caddis and Ritchie along with Ferry were the shining lights. Billy did fairly well in his first start upfront though with some good touches and a few shots to boot.

Now for Bodin. Well I liked the football style and team selection. Made subs at the right time except for perhaps Andrew going off. With more quality that system and style could and probably would work for us. It worked well for Wilson last season with better players. He says the right things. I think we could have had more of a go at them but that was probably more down to the players than manager. Can't judge him on 2 games but don't think he would be the answer given his lack of experience. That said if he had someone experienced by his side it could be a different matter as he clearly doesn't take any bollocks and wants to do well for the club.

Oh and Trollope was there again today taking notes so I hear.
