I think the board are making it clear that we are only in the market for cheap options.

How so?

Eddie Howe had never managed full stop before last season, and in contrast Paul Hart has managed in the Premiership.

Experience is one thing, but everyone has to get their break somewhere.

Of course, and it's not an exact science but Howe was the only option for AFCB at the time. They had no money to bring anyone else in. He was the cheap option who happened to be awesome.

And I'm not suggesting we bring in someone with bags of experience on big money. In fact I can't think of much worse than another mercenary manager on the merry-go-round, but an up and coming you boss from the conference or the scottish lower leagues. Micky Mellon for example, would be my pick.

Youngish, dynamic, got results over the past couple of seasons, would jump at the chance and shouldnt cost the earth, although we would need to pay compo.

I think the board are making it clear that we are only in the market for cheap options. So they need to pick the best cheap option, which at the moment is Trollope.

Then the board need to think again. It's the most important role at the football club. If you need to invest to get the right man in it then you should. I can't work out how board made up of people that have made millions in business can't grasp this.

We should be keeping our fingers crossed that Wycombe blow it in the play-offs, giving us half a chance of snatching Gary Waddock, who's done brilliantly there.

At the very outset they said no throwing money at the project....think we can assume that covers all bases.

But if Bodin's doing the manager's job, who will be doing Bodin's job?
Job swap, Hart?

No I think it means doing it within the sort of budget structure we've seen already, which would tend to write about some of the names bandied about.

Doesn't mean we can't get the right sort of fella to do a good job though...

At our level a director of football needs to be a bit of a wheeler dealer. Andy King would be more apt than Paul Hart.

Adi Boothroyd, Alan Irvine, Phil Parkinson, Alan Curbishley all decent enough names wanting to get back into the game but would any of them drop to L2 - perhaps it depends on how fitton sells the club to them - club looking to bounce back at the first attempt new stadium in a few years with potentional perhaps ?

Perhaps it is worth us looking around at the younger coaches about and fitton seeking advice from contacts in the game on who is rated highly and would be interested.....
