Taking the Mike!

SWINDON Town are still picking up the wages of Mike Grella, even though the striker has already returned to Leeds United.

The problem here lies with Grella.

At worst here, he would be on the bench. At best at Leeds he wouldn't even be in the matchday squad.

I really don't know what he thinks going back to Leeds is going to acheive. Grayson will sell him at the end of the season.

Ok, had a few beers and haven't seen town play for a good few years now but this is fucking stupid.  From what I have read on here Grella was a pretty good player.  Even if he wants to leave why the fuck would you let him go when you only have two fit strikers and play Timlin and JPM up front with Andrews.  Now, I respect Fitton for saving out club and for getting us to the play off final last season but this season has been a monumental fuck up.

Need some direction, need someone to come in and shake this club up and get us moving in the right direction on the pitch.

Rant over.

Grella started 5 in 7 and cited not enough playing time as his reasons to go back to the Leeds reserves. Hardly the right attitude.

The contract with Leeds is that Grella is here until the end of the season so we pay his wages until the end of the season, the only way out of this is to come to an agreement with Leeds to terminate the loan early thus not picking up thew full tab for his wages, there is nothing that can be done if Leeds refuse though, but hopefully Nick Watkins can come to an agreement to save us some money.

Grella I suspect has had a falling out with Hart after not being happy about being on the bench reading between the lines.

Is there not some kind of contract breach here?

No... they sent him here to play, he said he wanted to go, Hart said he could. If Hart had told him to stay and he left then it'd be a different matter

I wonder if Hart checked with Fitton & Co before making the decision.  Not exactly his money to waste is it?

Hart wouldn't ask him to come back when we have so many strikers like JPM, Ritchie, Prutton, Timlin and N'Diaye...

Shame we could have done with a man in the hole to release Ritchie to play on the left and JP on the right

Whod' have thought it.

Hart didn't want him...end off, even in the matches he was playing he was dragging him off though he was one of our better players.
Fact is the club have relied to much on loan players, and it has found them out this season.
Hart has brought the two old pals in from Palace, one has been out injured for a month, the other has scored 1 in 8.They havnt given us the impetus we needed so badly.
As for Grella he is history, lets hope the club learn something from it.
