I think I'm in good company when I say I cannot believe the current run of form we're on, but looking at the next seven games it's still doable!  Our run-in looks like this:

Hartlepool (H)
Brentford (A)
Franchise (H)
Notts County (H)
Sheff Weds (A)
Oldham (H)
Tranmere (A)

Ordinarily, I'd be confident of managing 16 points from those games, especially given the opposition's respective runs of form.  We just need goals.  Hartlepool on Saturday is a must-win, and I know this was said pre-Charlton, but I firmly believe a win would reignite the side and allow us to push on.  Perhaps I'm delusion, definitely I'm delusion, but I'd at least like us to go down with a fight.

It seems currently as though the team has given up.  Even the website appears to be little more than hopeful fans will turn up, with the only away ticket news currently showing for the fucking Wiltshire Shield.  Anyone know how much tickets from Brentford are?

I liked the look of the line-up last night but for whatever reason we didn't get the result.  Please please please let it be our Saturday.

If we weren't so shit, winning those games would be perfectly doable.

I can't see us winning a game until we're mathmatically down (mid April).

Would be pleasantly shocked if we got more then 7 points from those games.  We will draw most of them

...but dont you see a slight contradiction in a team which hasnt won in 16 games or whatever it is suddenly winning 6 on the bounce?

The problem I see is we're not a team that has lost 16 on the bounce.  Different management, a combination of weird and wonderful formations and managers mean it isn't the same team that has suffered this run.  Eventually, the realisation that we're going down we're dawn on the players and they'll play.  They're good players.  Form is temporary, class is permanent.

It's the hope that gets you in the end.

this is a wind up yes, have a look at the fixture list and look at the teams that have already turned us over,
the teams above aint that good but we are fucking shit, it also makes me laugh how some get new found confidence of us staying up between games, only to to have that hope well and truly put in its place come match day, its over, give it up

The one good thing to come out of last night for me is now I KNOW we are going down. Had we won last night, and then maybe again on Saturday I would have been more hopeful only to have those hopes dashed in the last few games. Because we lost last night any thoughts I had of beating the drop have gone and now I don't have to suffer any more heartbreak this season.

I like your optimism, but it's much too tall an order to escape now with only 7 games to go.

Yep. I thought it months ago, but couldn't live with myself going the rest of the season with no hope.

But that last tiny flame has been extinguished.

We will go remainder of season not winning another match, scoring probably no more than 5 goals in the process. Sorry but we will finish rock bottom.
