Need for Speed: Payback is free on PS Plus this month. Used to love the NFS franchise and playing this reminded me how fun they are. Last one i played was Hot Pursuit, probably 10 odd years ago.

I have played it, the graphics were like something from 2005 though, the gameplay is ok but nothing special, there are better driving games out there by a long way.

Heh, I paid for that years ago and never played more than a few hours. Loved the original.

Epic have 1 or 2 free games every week, often they are shovelshite but every now and again it's something ace (had gta5, newer civ and borderlands 2 last lockdown) - worth keeping an eye on.

I spent months playing Elite on my C64 and Frontier on my A1200 but I never got into Elite Dangerous on the Xbox. I will give it a go on PC.

Loved Elite on the C64 I spend many days playing it, back in 84 I learnt how to machine code program by Jeff Minter at Llamasoft (of Revenge of the Mutant Camels fame) who lived just outside Hungerford and did one afternoon a week tutoring at Regents College to all of us 18 year old programming students, lovely man if a little excentric, often came along with his mum!

Never played Elite since those days, I prefered the original version on BBC Model B/C.

May try downloading on PC for nostalgias sake.

Prolific games writer, I regularly used to write items for the magazine ZZAP64, now that brings back memories.
