My mum got me a Google Cardboard viewer for Christmas. You stick your smartphone in it and download a free app that gives you a very basic VR experience. It's cool, but not worth forking out £600+ for a proper one. If they ever come far enough down in price I might be interested.
The Google Cardboard can be picked up for a couple of quid if you fancy a play about with it.

Depends what you use it for. Driving games are next level with VR and a decent wheel and pedals, if I had the money I'd go that route. But I don't, so 3 screens will have to do, ha!

The people who made FTL have a new game out called Into The Breach. Like a puzzly mini x-com. Only managed to play for a few hours, enjoying so far.

Can anyone recommend a game that requires you to think and problem solve? Not so much like a traditional puzzle but something that has a solid story/plot or even if there is a bit of fun involved. Monkey Island used to be quite good for that but they'd often have bizarre solves that were way beyond lateral thought like "stretch the prosthetic skin over the manhole cover, to make a trampoline, to get into the open window and get the keys" A ladder would've sufficed. Even if you had to make it from scratch. There used to be a game that involved Alchemy that I can't remember the name of and Eternal Darkness was great original title on GameCube.
If anyone can bring up any new or old suggestions then that'd be great.

"Gorogoa" is good but only takes a few hours to complete.
"Papers, Please" isn't bad, another small but well thought out game.
"Mini Metro" is easy and fun but difficult later on but a good time filler.
"The Stanley Parable" is also pretty interesting too.
All on PC.

Cheers Jayo. Hmmm not sure it was called that. I remember you travelled in time and always remember a clocktower having importance in a Town square. Not sure that helps. I've searched the buggary out of the net at times and just can't seem to pin it down! |
