Blackie will be 17 now, went back to adorable Shrewsbury a fortnight ago for the first time in two years, she's still going strong, caught sight of her prowling the back garden, which backs onto the Severn (childhood home). The guy who now owns it runs the Salopian Brewery, for all you real ale fans out there! Long may she live!

Cats are definitely more astute and manipulative, but I embrace that, part of their nature. Dogs are clearly a bit dim, loveable all the same

Are you sure, most, but not those stupid hairy Persian types (ban me Don Rogers Shop) could easily fend for themselves, mice, rats, birds, squirrels are their natural quarry.

Exactly! What is the point of owning a cat? Unless it's a tiger, lion etc, now that would be cool.

There is no point to owning any pet, but as Dostoyevsky said sometimes when 2 + 2 it equals 5, and therein lies the beauty and absurdity of our lives.

This is the water. And this is the well. Drink full and descend. The horse is the white of the eyes and dark within.

We have two pampas grasses in our garden, one sleeps on one, the other sleeps in the other one. My missus bought a feeding station from Ebay, I thought she was fucking bonkers, but they use it every night. (Well, apart from when they had been in hibernation until a few days ago)
