I'm surprised... would have half expected him to come out and say "We'll we've not got many left, just a few in the enclosure" or something similar! I'm not expecting them to shift many more - if people wanted one then the majority will have bought one by now. A pretty decent figure considering the last 12 months.

yeah a good number. Just wondered if the recent spate of new signings and the increased walk up ticket prices may have persuaded a few people to buy some.

Fair point, although I think the increased prices are much more likely to decrease attandance figures than shift people over to a season ticket. For somebody who had to pick and choose games before, they'll just pick and choose 2 or 3 less. Or just not bother!

I'm sure I had a card when I had one about 10 years ago, why did they bother moving back to paper tickets?

Because our cheap skate of a Chairman then, a certain Mr Hunt, couldn't be bothered to pay for the scanning equipment.

By the way, I've just paid for my Reading ticket and they gave me my ST at the same time. They are currently stuffing the envelopes for collection/posting.

Interestingly they didn't give me a paper ticket for Reading, they just updated my profile on the system so I can use my ST card. That's part of the reason why they are opening all stands for the game against the plastics, so they can use it as a test exercise for the swipe card technology.

So on Saturday I can expect my season ticket to be a plastic card I can simply keep in my wallet? Genuinely cracking news! :-)
