Wilson laments lack of firepower - hours after sealing Obika deal

DESPITE watching his side leak another three goals at Leyton Orient last night, Town manager Danny Wilson lambasted his lack of options up front as the
Robins created but misfired once again in League One.

Me thinks the Advertiser want to see Wilson out too.

I was thinking the same too, a very provoking headline.

Clearly we have problems defensively, but i agree with Wilson and a lot of this is down to not being able to retain position up top and getting caught with players going forward when the strikers give the ball away. But Austin and Paynter in the team last night and we would have retained more ball and the defence wouldnt be under constant pressure.

That's also a problem with playing one up front though. Wilson says Dossevi can't hold up the ball but he plays him in a way which he is expected to. This doesn't detract from Dossevi's ineptness but there is always a flip side to where the manager lays his blame.

It's not the strikers, it's not the defence, it's not even the midfield. It's not any one department, it's the whole damn team is not working and is not playing as a team. Mind, the fact that they don't play as the same team from one week to the next probably doesn't help.

Is there not some form of footballing equivalent of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy where we can declare for the season and finally formally give up on the play-offs in return for exemption from relegation?

Liking the Adver recently, they're starting to tell it like it is.

Indeed. Not a slight on Anthony Marshall but since he left to go to Newcastle they seem to pull less punches with regards to the team.

Indeed. Another rather cutting headline was today's "LEYTON ORIENT 3 TOWN 0: Revell haunts Town again as Wilson's strugglers plunge to new depths"
