How can we sign him if he's had two loans already this season and only just joined Peterborough until the end of the season? What's the Ritchie Da Laet style workround on this one and why have Peterborough released him?

Something to do with it being an emergency loan or something accoding to the transfer rumour thread. Who knows.

We'd have one of the best strikeforces in the division if he signs.  Impressive that we're being linked with the likes of Obika, Benyon and Obika sounds like a fucking dream pairing.  Make it official for fuck's sake!

Don't think Peterborough would have released him. All speculation obviously but the way Talksport presented it yesterday was that Spurs would recall him from his loan at 'boro and then send him here.

Well we need someone for sure......is he the answer, looking at his record it is ok.

We need a bit better than ok at the moment....loan players dont float my boat to be honest.
And before you press that button i know its the done thing now...cant see where the hunger in a player would come from...not playing for a contract etc.
Hope he arrives and does the biz...we need him to.

Just checked with a Posh fan. Ferguson didn't rate him in training so released him after one game! Gary Johnson had signed him and when he left and Fergie came in he booted Obika out.

Hopefully he's made a big mistake!

I see where you are coming from leefer but if it's with a view to a permanent move like some are saying, maybe he will give 100%

In general yes, but every now and then you get a Danny Ward. He always gave 100% while on loan.

Going to have to hope and expect this guy to. I don't think its another Hutchinson - he has played a bit at this level so should know what to expect.

I'd love to see Pericard come good (obviously) and be the player he's capable of being; the Heskey-esque target man who holds the ball up and creates chances for the nippy players in the team (Ritchie, Benyon and maybe Obika!).

Always been reasonably impressed when I've seen him play, so this looks about as good a "young Premiership loanee" we could get without dragging up the Ward thing again.

Not a chance at the County Ground unless he scores in the first 5 minutes, everytime he misplaces a pass he gets hammered and then his game goes downhill from then.

Didn't he just go on loan at Dag & Red or has that been cancelled for this move?

Emergency loans don't count towards the two club rule, only standard loans do. Fuck knows what the difference is, I'd imagine only the Football League know for sure as they're the ones who made up the emergency loan system to get round the transfer window.
