What a load of bollocks!! First time I've seen it at the confederations cup. The assistant doesn't put his flag up till the player touches the ball even if the player yards off.

Why do fifa have to keep messing with the rules? Why ruin change the beautiful game? Not sure what this rule is supposed to prove...

They are also now scraping the" 10 yards back rule "for arguing with the ref.Just when you get use to something they change it .

Why are they doing that? the only problem with that was refs didnt enforce it often enough

Yep, getting rid of that rule is just an advert to tell players that they can shout all they like at the ref - it's a disgrace to scrap it I reckon.

I think they are getting shot of it because it was a rule they took from rugby
and they didn't understand it in places where rugby isn't played.

Theres no point in waitng for him to touch the ball, if he's offside he's offside there we go.

so if the ball is passed to a 30 yard offside player, if he doesnt touch the ball play continues....

So the defenders could stop because the offside guy is offside but another guy could come running on through and pick up the ball....

Basically he could chase the ball making sure it doesn't go to a defender and if it does, 10 seconds later, it will be given?

Surely Mr Allerdyce wil be looking to take advantage of this rule in some way!
