I like it. I know it's what each and every person on here knows but it's good to see the Adver growing some balls and coming out with it. It needed to be said.

Yeah, good article. When I saw the headline I thought 'no shit sherlock' and thought it would be a load of the usual limp Adver tosh - trying hard not to offend anyone at the club.
But it names names and sums up a lot of what the fans are thinking - there's nothing new here, nothing we didn't already know, but at least the Adver have publicly acknowledged fans concerns.

I wouldnt want to have Danny Wilson's job over the next 4 days. Massive pressure to find a striker.
But we have backed ourselves into a corner. This is it now, if we dont have a striker on tuesday then chances are were headed for the drop.
You cant rely on loan players at this time. They can be recalled by their parent club.
Fair play to the Journo, spot on.

Fitton and Wilson must know it too.
Whether we pull out all the stops and get a replacement or not really is an indication of whether Fitton and the board think dropping into League 2 is an out and out disaster in terms of the club's business model.

Yes, I know it does. But the local paper needed to make some sort of comment on the Austin situation and one of it's purposes is to reflect public opinon. It's done that very effectively with this article so fair play.

Now the dust has settled I believe losing Austin has galvanised the club in quite a good way. I'm not sure why, maybe it's a distraction, but since he put in his request, the overall temperature of hatred and anger around the club has dropped and there's not so much "Wilson Out" and what not.
I personally feel about a million times more positive than I did a month or so ago and perhaps feel the adversity is going bring us together and be good for us.

Glad Austin situation is resolved. Still need a couple of strikers before I'm feeling the same as you.

Yes, they clearly have to get one, preferably two strikers in before the deadline. Maybe Mr Fitton will have to put his principals to one side on this occasion for the overall good of the club and pay some wedge to a blood sucking leach agent if that's what it takes

They've had weeks to get this sorted. The pressure is on now because the press say we got a huge fee for Charlie, so suddenly everyone is more expensive to Swindon. They should have had the replacement lined up. No sympathy at all.
