I'm happy enough with this news

BUT we do need about 4 players who are ready to play at League One, well tomorrow. I'm all for young players, im all for giving good non league players ago..

However, I'd also like to see us stay up this season and young non league players who are possibly going out on loan straight away anyway, arent going to cut it.

Says on Sky sports there were 10 sides in for him including derby, must be something about him, also nice to know we are still an attractive destination, even though we're dog do's at the moment.

Happy with this. If we weren't the only football league club interested there must be something about him. Whether or not he is what we need right now remains to be seen though.

Up here in Nottingham & talking to a couple of Forest & Derby fans about him. They were upset that neither side had made a bid although both clubs have had Flint watched - very highly regarded locally.  Cloughie was said to be keen but didn't want to pay that much for a non-league player. If he develops his game & gets his chance then he could be a real find.

Whether he is or not, sounds very much like Morrison in that he's a good young player with potential, but uncertain whether he can make the grade at league one or beyond.

On reflection, as a like-for-like transfer for Morrison, the fee paid still leaves us in profit. If he is as good or better then it's a great bit of business. Worth the gamble now we have some unexpected funds in from Morrison who never looked like being a first pick player for us.

could go straight back on loan apparently.

I'm struggling with this..how is that going to benefit anyone (apart from Alfreton of course)? I mean, how's that going to improve his game? Surely if we're going to go down the loan route it should be to a Conference or L2 club?

Looks a bit of a gamble.....and lets be honest he isn't that young.....21.

His fitness will be the worry......sounds like a good prospect and who knows may benefit the club gig time in the future.
Alas most Town fans are worried about the present.

A year and a half younger actually Leefer. Morrison has been branded as a young defender with potential which I think is a fair description, hence the comparison in my previous post.

Charlie Austin is a few days older than Flint. Perhaps we should stop tagging him as a young player too - that year and a half is going to make an incredible amount of difference isn't it?
