We do have lots of Queens Park pics - I'll see what we have.
In the 90s those terrapins were seemingly wild in the ponds confusing drunks and students...

This is one for the oldies. My memory may be playing tricks on me but I have a vague recollection of there being animals on display ( a very mini mini zoo ) in one of the larger department stores - McIlroys / Debenhams building in the late mid / 60s.
Can anyone confirm or am i talking shit as usual?

I remember there being a big pet shop of some sort on the corner where McDonalds is now. Was that Hinders? They had a fucking big tank full of Pirhana's in there which were Ace. |

There was certainly a Bretts in Commercial road. I poked my fingers through a gerbils cage in there when I was about 8 and the little cunt bit me. It bled like fuck and I got a bollocking from the old dear. |

the one on commercial road was definately called bretts.i remember the goldfish were kept in a tiled pond which was in the floor of the shop.
