Perfection is not attainable

« on: Thursday, January 20, 2011, 15:23:11 »

Can I give a massive heartfelt thank you to Swindon Town FC and in particular Mark Isaacs the Stadium Manager.

As some of you on here know my father passed away a few hours before Christmas Eve, my father had followed STFC through thick and thin since 1951 and was still an eager follower till the day he passed.

I approached the club about having my fathers ashes scattered on the pitch at the County Ground, having spoken to Chris Tanner at the club and he arranged an "In Memorium" in the Swindon vs Bournemouth programme, which was a fantastic offer on his and the clubs behalf.

Yesterday I was in Swindon - coincidentally for my Aunties funeral, who passed away a week after my father - at the County Ground arranged by Mark Isaac. The groundstaff had dug a 14 inch by 12 inch 2 foot deep hole in a nice position behind the right stanchion of the goal at The Townend in which I duely placed dads ashes for them to refill the hole afterwards.

Here are the pictures my wife took of the occassion.

Many many thanks to Swindon Town football club for their actions in this and I cannot commend them and their action highly enough.

Thank you.
