yes i agree don't change a winning team but it's the midfield/forwards which define us scoring etc. back line will always be a 4 so that stays the same.

but it depends what the scouts have picked up on with Oldham. if it means changing the shape to cope then i think DW should change the team. he did it with Charlton and it worked a treat.

Unless the 4.5.1 approach for away games just works for all then as dave said don't change it

I thought AOB did precious little at Charlton but then it's possible I just looked away from the TV every time he got the ball. I think I probably agree with bringing Douglas back in and moving Timlin into Boyzone's position. I don't think Timlin deserves to be dropped and is a much better player than a lot of people give him credit for.

I can see the logic in dropping AOB & moving Timlin wider, but I would worry that that would negate a lot of what was successful against Charlton. They often play with a fairly high back line with not a lot of pace and knowing that we had the pace of Ritchie & AOB ready to chase anything over the top made them drop deeper, giving more space to the midfield to play. I'm not sure that Timlin will frighten Oldham as much as AOBs pace frightened Charlton

A game or two ago we were all critical of Wilson for playing players out of position, then a few here are suggesting Timlin plays out of position. Mental.

If O'Brien has to be dropped it would make sense for McGovern to come in on the right (where he plays his best football) and put Ritchie on the left.

Also, O'Brien had a hand in two of the goals. Hard to say he didn't do anything.

I usually agree with not changing a winning team, but Dougie for Timlin will and should happen I reckon. Personally would play Doss wide right and Ritchie wide left but won't happen.

I'd like to see this.  It seems pretty clear to me that Dossevi is not a striker, but does have talent.  Wide right could be good, especially in a 451 as he will have licence to get and be forward pretty much as much as he likes.

From what I can gather Donkey, he was used as a right of three up top/right winger for the majority of his time in France. Can use his energy, work rate and ability to run at players without worrying that he lives offside and can't hit a barn door when up front.

Now, I was a lot kinder in my description...albeit the same end result. Wink
