Hasnt he had all sorts of financial strains while he was there?

If not, you would of expected him to better with that squad.

Dennis Wise favourite to take over (Was at Newcastle with the Jimenez guy who has just taken them over.)

Bloody hell. Makes me glad our board aren't so trigger happy. Basically had the same season as us last year, they're three points off automatic places and he gets the boot.

At least it took us nearly being in the drop zone for people to start clamoring for the manager's head.

Rather harsh, but I suppose it is an excuse for a new board to appoint their own man

Ah yeah fair point. Forgot for a moment they've just been taken over. Guess that makes it a bit less surprising.

The sack race seems to have come around a bit later than usual, quite a few manager vacancies about now - who's next ?

Seeing as their side was taken apart in the summer with their best players leacing (much worse than it was here) - he has done very well to get them into the top 6 by signing mostly free agents.

I thought they would struggle big time this season.

Last night was a good excuse for the board to justify bringing in a manager who probably got his official CAFC tie in the post just before the new year!

Yup, as STFC4LIFE pointed out, Jimenez who is apparently the driving force behind the new board, was part of the Cockney Mafia setup at Newcastle with Wise, so they've probably just been waiting for an excuse to bring Wise in. Parkinson seems wildly unpopular with their fans so last night's tonking was just the excuse they needed

I dont think he's a good as some are making out. They had a really good team last season and to be honest a better manager would have got them up. Again this season I still think they have a half decent side. If they appoint Wise (as has been suggested) I wouldn't be surprised to see them get promotion as Wise is the sort of manager that gets teams going and gets them on good runs like he did here and when he was at Leeds as well.
