Wilson: 'We still owe the fans'

DANNY Wilson is still haunted by the result of Town’s last competitive outing and cannot wait for his team to get out on the pitch and put it right.

THIS COMMENT IS A QUOTE FROM THE ARTICLE - I DID NOT WRITE IT BUT I DID FIND IT FUNNY AND HOPE IT COMES TRUE!

---

Charlie scores the first. Billy Bodin comes off the bench to score the winner at Exeter following a sublime bit of skill in skinning the defender, cutting inside and curling it into the top left hand corner. 2-1 and 3 points.

Charlie scores a hatrick against Peterborough and VP the other as we gain revenge for the 5-4 defeat with a thumping 4-1 victory.

Following the last 2 games a crowd of 12,000 turns up for the new years day game against Bournemouth. Charlie and Ferry score the goals and we somehow keep a clean sheet for a 2 nil victory.

Monday 3rd January and Swindon have done their business early in the transfer window, Timlin has (sadly) left to join Luggy at Southend and O'Brian has surprisingly gone on loan to Southampton. But the Town faithful are flying on the way up to Charlton with the news that Ritchie has been signed permanently on a 2 year deal, joining John Campbell, and the greatest news of all Charlie signing a new 4 year contract. "This is where I want to play my football, I believe in the chairman the manager and the fans. I want to repay them with taking The Town into the Championship and beyond".

Charlie scores from the spot, with Sean and Rose scoring the others as Swindon play some scintillating football to dismantle Charlton 3-1 in front of the cameras.

Not up to their recent standard Oldham batter The Town for an hour but can't break us down. The resalute defending coming from the whole team, with Charlie and Vince and the midfield putting in a dynamic shift of harrying. Finally though Oldham make the break through with Chris Taylor firing past Smithy to put Oldham ahead. But Swindon not at their best keep fighting and David Prutton pops up at the near post to bullet a header in, in the 95th minute to gain a point.

Monday the 10th January and Swindon Fans are stunned as AF announces a double whammy from nowhere. Firstly the Town Counsil have finally decided to get behind the club and support their redevelopment plans for the County Ground, complete with Hotel and conference and banquetting facilities. He also announces Danny Ward is to return on loan from Bolton having now left Coventry.

Straight into the side Saturday Danny scores the first and Charlie scores the second as Town somehow contrive only to win 2 nil having battered Yeovil for 90 minutes.

Swindon are on fire, their season turned around. But despite their brilliant form find themselves 2 nil down away at Bristol Rovers although both goals were against the run of play. Jonathan Douglas scores the first for Town shortly before half time. Wilson makes a double subsitution bringing on Thomas Dossevi and Vince Pericard who both score as the Town come back from 2 nil down to win 3-2 away. The players salute the fans for 10 minutes after the final whsitle. The fans have been immense in their continued loud and vocal support.

It comes as no surprise that The Town breeze past Exeter 3 nil, with JPM scoring twice and Ritchie the other. The game is notable for a twenty minute cameo by John Campbell, his first appearance in a Town shirt.

February 1st sees The Town travel to Bournemouth with the transfer window shut. Charlie puts us 1 nil up with a spectacular volley. The Town look inspirational, solid and tight at the back, brilliant going forward with the slick passing movements even better than last years. But the Bournemouth keeper is inspired and the game is still 1 nil. John Campbell comes off the bench to replace VP after 78 minutes. 2 minutes later the Town are on the defensive but Sean intercepts with a beautifully timed tackle. The ball drops to Dougie who looks up and fires an inch perfect pass up the galloping Campbell, he beats one player, before cutting past a second, he goes to shoot, feigns past the third and smashes the ball into the roof of the net infront of the travelling Town faithful who go mad. It's the 1st February and with an extraordinary run teh Town are now top of league 1. Perhaps after all Fitton was right it's going to be easy after all. The adver site is getting 100 responses to every article but without exception the feedback is positive and glowing of AF, DW and the players that are dieing for the beloved Red Shirt.

Here's to a merry christmas and a huge and happy 2011
