I think we were around 15th. Not sure what the points difference was.

Edit: here's the table from 13th Dec 2003, just after we lost 3-2 at home to Plymouth. 14th place, 5 points off the play-offs. We didn't lose in 2004 until mid-March!

There's always hope if we managed that under Kingy!

The 88/89 season was kick started by the 2 games against Pompey at the turn of the year.
We played at  Fratton Park in the league on Jan 2nd and then five days later in the FA Cup 3rd Round.

Winning the replay at the CG brought us a 4th Round tie with West Ham.Again with a replay it
brought the Town national exposure, especially for Fraser, with headlines such as 'The best young Keeper in England'.
It also brought a belief to the team and to the squad as a whole.

With Alan Mac forcing his way into the side,we became more free scoring and played more football
under Macari for the rest of the season, than we had seen during his tenure.

Here's a glimpse of how we did that season, with the february win against the scum...

Not far from being half way through the season, and a slight worry is that our away form is crap, but we've yet to visit any team in the top ten.

The way our season has panned out so far, we'll end up either getting hammered or sneakily coming away with wins!

King was always about 15 good games and 15 bad. A bit bipolar if you ask me.

Wilson is often a slow starter to a season and then gets better and better. He likes to take the time to be fair to the squad and get the first team to sort itself out. Problem is this season, were still no closer to figuring out a settled side nearly half way through the season, which means Play Off - game over.
