We should rearrange it for Sat Jan 8th.

We're supposed to be at Leyton Orient that day but they are in the FA cup still. I assume Oldham are out as well..

I wonder if that might be a possibility?  Will allow more Town supporters to go than if it's re-arranged for a Tuesday night.

Also will detract from the fact we should be playing Derby..hate 3rd round days when we are not playing....they wont arrange it for then....too much common sense in that kind of decision.

Definitely, it's rubbish when we're not playing.  I almost forget at times that there is still football going on!

Me too. The whole media goes FA Cup whiteout and when we're not playing it just really rubs it in we didn't make it. All the worse when it's because we lost to rubbish due to being even more rubbish

In fairness, we have done that sort of thing before and I think they will do it on this occasion.

They have been getting a bit of stick oop north apparently.
Not doing there upmost to get the game on.....plenty of matches in that area went ahead with almost perfect surfaces.
Saying that Oldham is a cold place even in a heatwave!
May have been a good thing for us...some good results yesterday that keeps us well in with a sniff off the playoffs.

You'd have thought Oldham would have made some effort, given that a win could have put them a point off an auto place.

In some ways this season feels a bit like 2 years back when at the same time we were 2 points worse off than now.   Like then we couldn't defend, but relied on Cox for goals....like then we went out to a then decent non league side in the cup.

Wilson came in on Boxing Day and saw one of the more abject displays of recent years v Gayers.  Like then Wilson identified the problem at the back and got in Greer, a player with a decent record but little recent football due to injury....

Then we were 1 point off the drop zone this season 2.  That season we very nearly went down, history doesn't necessarily repeat itself, but we need to see that this season is probably now about damage limitation.

Like I've said in another thread, the pitches had thawed out as temperatures were ok thursday night until last night. I had football in Blackburn in the morning yesterday, the problem was more waterlogging than frozen pitches. There was a little bit of snow lying about - but I was surprised they called it off Friday, especially with the weather forecast neither stating cold temperatures or heavy rain up here.

Hartlepool looked a good bet for relegation a while back...they win there game in hand they are a point off 6th  place.....we beat Wednesday last week...they are now second after dicking the Gas.
Just need a run of three wins and the doom could be lifted...but that seems a looooooooong way off at present.
Still feel Brighton could slip up....this lge is still wide open.

Not so sure about Hpool....their season has been curious, insofar as they'd conceded most goals at home and fewest away in the div.  Always feel if you can defend away, then there's a chance of picking up 1-0's which is what Pool have done. As things stand we've little chance of winning away unless we score at least 3 or more, and we've done that 3 times and still not won...

I was saying the same thing on Tuesday night.

An identical season......cannot defend and rely on our star man up front to keep us up....

They did re-arrange it for the FA Cup weekend so thats a nice result we can get over our dismal FA Cup exit with an away win at Oldham..............hopefully.
