Im not saying these were good signing but it shows that he is willing to give a bit of money out.

Tiote has been brilliant. Williamson and Routledge have been good- especially for the money paid for them. |

Danny Simpson, Mike Williamson, Wayne Routledge and Leon Best were all signed start of the year and not in the summer with the view to helping them get promoted. So based on your intial list they signed 2 permanent signings (Perch and Tiote) for a total of £4.7 million and a loan signing (Ben Arfa) at £2 million. So a total of £6.7 million to keep a squad of championship players in the premiership, the job Chris Hughton was doing was excellent and Mike Ashley has made a crazy decision sacking him. |

But the original post was not saying they wouldn't give Jol any money (although if they do, it's a bit bloody much as they told Hughton there wouldn't be any available to him) but that they couldn't (or wouldn't) afford to pay him what he'd want, never mind anyone he might want to sign |
