What a stupid decision by Newcastle. Even their fans warmed to him.

Calderwood was holding their management together, as soon as he left for Hibs it fell apart.
A very poor decision by the board, but then again they have a track record of poor choices.

It beggars belief - his replacement will be sacked before the end of the season (or it'll Joe Kinnear)

Since calderwood took over at hibs newcastle have won at west ham and arsenal, drew with chelsea and dicked sunderland 5-1. I'd suggest calderwoods presence made fuck all difference

Ha ha. That's ace. Mid table in the Prem after going up and they sack Hughton. They really are fucking deluded aren't they? They had a bit of stability and he was doing a decent job. It will be interesting to see who gets the job - any decent manager shouldn't go anywhere near it.

My comment was more based upon the fact that with Calderwood there they had never let in more than 3 in a game, since he left they let in 4 at home to the Arse and let in 5 at Bolton. But they did score 5 at home to Sunderland, which was a fantastic result in all honesty.

Madness.
Did the board expect them to be challenging the top 4? Hughton has done a great job.
