According to met office cold all week below freezing every day including -4 on Friday evening, the pitch is under cover and has been all week so hopefully will go the distance and the game will be on.

According to the groundsman the pitch covers are good to -4/-5C but then problems occur. We have had the pitch covered all week but apparently already had a -7 night (not on my thermometer we didn't) and so the frost may already have penetrated (ooo er..).

The upshot is the club are looking at other methods of defrosting the pitch. Presumably some kind of dragon or a lot of 99p Morrisons car de-icer.

SO I guess watch the Official Sites for more details. I guess if its off they'll call it as early as possible.

Don't think it would be too much of a surprise is Saturday is off....we don't usually get weather like this in November....frost covers as opposed to undersoil heating can only do so much.

PS, when we get our redevelopment, some sort of USH would be mega ace.

It would be nce, but when you consider that they actually called off our game against Stockport due to the pavements being icy due to H&S concerns, USH is not going to melt them.

True....it's probably just a dream. Was it Leicester a couple of seasons back, when folk shovelled snow off the pitch, but it was still postponed.  That sort of effort could be put into the surrounds if it was known the pitch would be fine.

It's not always just about the pavements though, there's the state of the roads to consider as well.

No it was Southend. The roads and pavements are mostly fine around West Swindon at the moment. I doubt there is too much difference around the MR area. I think if we avoid snow for the rest of the week this should be on. Providing we do get -10 nights of course.

Gatwick airport is closed, not looking good on either counts of
me being able to fly, or the game being on.
