The only real wake-up call would be the death of a team at Championship level and even then a "big" name. I doubt the football world will weep the demise of Doncaster Rovers after a few months. However, lose Leeds United and they'll be recording documentaries, publishing books and the like for years.
Not quite the same but look at Luton Town. They plummetted from the 2nd tier to Non-League and if we were brutally honest, nobody really misses them.
We'll be rewarded for a sensible business strategy eventually. However, it'll take time and I would happily take that over a season of misguided glory followed by it's grizzly conclusion.
So true Rich...good post. No one would miss us though either.

That's all well and good, but we need a goalscorer and a brilliant winger and a solid centre back and we should get them all in straight away or else we may lose a few matches and that would be the end of the world... Well said Rich. We need a sustainable club. All else is a bonus.

99% of posts are complete irrational rubbish. Not good enough, Wilson out, AF spend more etc or we won't get promoted this season! It's a pleasant surprise to read an entire thread of sensible and rational posts. Hang on, is this the twilight zone?

although having a stable club is great and all that,is it unreasonable to expect a loaded board who chose to buy stfc to throw some money at it? they must know that football clubs dont make money, and nobody made them buy it.so why not have a right go at success?

So that they don't load the club with debts, wages etc that aren't sustainable so that if they do ever move on we're royally fucked all over again. Not rocket science. Some fans are their own worst enemies

We'd certainly be in a much, much better position than when they came. Or than we would be if they'd followed the "Spend, spend, spend for success" advice of some of our fans

Well, then. On a sort of unrelated note, I nearly got broadsided on the way into work by a van with "Arriba Wellness Centre" written on the side. Which made me think of you. Do you have a "Wellness Centre"?

I wonder if they are losing interest to be honest. All I will say is that if they start demolishing stands they must, must follow it through at complete the new ground.
