I've been looking over the internet to find an update and there's only the official win a contract site which as far as I can see only has the original dates on it - which means that the final 22 are playing at 'Swindon FC' (sic) on 8th December. Not that I'm going to, but I guess it's open to people watching?
I thought I might have a look at who the final 22 are, but I can't even find the original profiles that I looked at a while back, fat chaps (sorry to fat readers), ex youth players and all.
Though I thought this was a weird initiative, I'd expected more hype and regular updates to get people interested in what was going on, but it's absolute silence.
Was just wondering, anyone know anything on this?

Yeah, you'd have expected to get some adver coverage at least, it's not like they have anything worthwhile to print anyway.

I'm covering this in the next two issues of 442, so there'll be more exposure after the 8th. The problem is, they don't want to name players at this stage for fear of them getting pinched from under our noses, hence the silence! word is there are a few very bright talents involved... watch this space.

Sounds promising, might be more than one prospect by the sounds of it then?

Not sure if all you guys saw this, but just in case a couple of weeks ago they put this good Video up, it's quite good...
Anyone going along on Dec 8th? I could imagine turnout being low with a game on Sat and Tue at home also. Would be interesting to see if we end up taking on more than one player though (even though it's only supposed to be 1 contract up for grabs!) as at the end of the day you can offer low paying 1 year contracts to give them a shot, and then reward them with a better contract if they warrant it :-)

I also heard that Samsung originally didn't want anyone to turn up for the final, but Nick Watkins persuaded them that they need a crowd, and that is why tickets are limited.

That would explain the unusually strict rules for obtaining a ticket (Club Red or ST holders only), though I doubt there'll be many going tbh?

At the end of the day the game is free to watch, and you'll be watching someone who will be signing for the club in a months time.

A centre back with experience? We only need a striker if we sell Austin. Priority should be in defence and right wing if McGovern continues with his shit form in my opinion.

I think it is limited as they obviously do not want any scouts turning up and getting to any of the better players before Danny & Co have decided who they want - or that is what is suggests to me anyway

Actually I think that is already blown. I just watched the vid above, and the people were being selected by a West Ham scout, how did that happen then?
