Ladbrokes are offering odds on The Beatles having the number one Xmas single @ 66/1 and the number one Xmas album @ 40/1. Which are potentially good odds, at the moment, maybe....
Apple are making an announcement at 3pm, the media are reporting they will be announcing the addition of The Beatles to Itunes. If that is correct and they add them in time for Xmas, then there is a good chance they'll get the Xmas number one - especially on the album charts.
Of course, this could all turn out to be nothing so I ain't taking the blame if you piss your money away on it.

I think Killing in the Name of should be bumped to number 1 every year as a new christmas tradition.

not saying it as it's MJ but Michael Jackson has his first post-humous album which love him or hate him is probably going to do quite well and comes out on the 14th December (just in time for Christmas) or Take That I would have though for album and whatever spastic wins X Factor normally gets christmas number 1 single.

I'm not convinced The Beatles will get the number one's, but those odds will be coming down a lot of they do start selling them via iTunes. Then hopefully I'll be able to lay my bets off on Betfair and guarantee a tidy profit. Hopefully.

Michael Jackson has his first post-humous album
He made an album specifically to listen to after indulging in a Greek/Middle Eastern dip? How niche!

Isn't there some twitter campaign or something to get 3 minutes of slience to number 1? Or was that bollocks?

A common misconception - it's not actually 3 minutes of silence. It's 4 minutes and 33 seconds of an instrument not being played, so you hear all the background noise whilst the performers don't play their instruments.

Anyone use my tip?
Beatles are now 12/1 for single (down from 66/1) and 9/1 for album (down from 40/1).

It'll need a co-ordinated effort to get one song to number one. We might see the top 40 innundated with beatles songs, but whether one gets to number one will be interesting to see

I reckon the album number one has the best chance, especially the Red & Blue albums as the re-mastered versions have only been out on CD for a month. Still, my best chance of making money is laying off the bets somewhere.
