I see that Tony Pulis wants to relegate refs to the lower leagues  - Pulis wants clubs to be able to vote on refs and the lowest scoring at the end of the season get's pushed into the lower leagues.

So in other words the premier only want the best refs and wants to push the crap inconsistent ones into the FL as they don't care about what happens in the FL, I thought that is why the introduced full time refs.

They should be concentrating on helping the refs get better and getting rid of those that are consistently crap

Fat lot of good it'll do him next season when his team is back down with the same refs he wants out.

ALSO: Players and Managers who intimidate refs and continue to argue the toss when a blatant free kick is given against them should face suspension.

By the same token then you'd be happy with us having a ref who'd only ever officiated in the Blue Sq South? Thought not

I think the general point is that they're not "shit" in the premier, but that just as there are better teams which tend to gravitate to the higher levels, so there are better refs who do likewise. And if their performance drops, so do they. Unless you think a ref who once officiates at any given level should thenceforth have a job for life at that level?

By the same token, how does a ref impress Pulis enough to get promoted to the Premier league then ?

As physically fit as Alan Wiley is, he can't ref all the games when everyone else is relegated.

refs are already assesed in every match, do get demoted for a while or longer if they mess up.

Relegating and promoting refs makes sense to me, although should perhaps be done impartially rather than by Mr Pulis.

This already happens, just on the judgement of a refereeing assesor, rather than some twat like Pulis and Allardyce.

Or Steve Bruce, who seems to think Cattermole's challenge on Modric yesterday was "perfectly fair"

He's a twat. Practically every week on Match of the Day he slags the referee off for one thing or another and always starts the interview by saying something like "the last thing I want to do is criticise the officials but....".

Everyone goes on about Wenger's "selective" vision but Bruce is completely blind in comparison.

I think that we have seen it over the last few seasons when we get a 'premier' ref they seem to have a nightmare and then clear off back to the premier

Nah, they should have a live "Ref Factor" at the end of MOTD with Pulis, Allardyce and Wenger on the panel Smiley
