I would have thought our game is nailed on to be shown live, as would Wimbledon v 'Wimbledon' if that's how it pans out. I really hope it does. Colchester v Marine..would be nice if it got shown live but I suspect it's the wrong way round to be considered for live coverage.

I may be wrong but aren't Marine and FC United the lowest placed teams left in the competition? As they've both got teams near the top of League One (if Brighton get through) then it makes their games the biggest upset possibilities, which would make them appealing. Unlikely yes, but a possibility.

Maybe Town for the ITV game and Marine for one of the two ESPN games.

Marine won't be on TV. They'll get a fair bit of paper coverage and may be one of the 'chosen' games on a highlights show, but there are more potential banana skins for the TV execs to show live

Almost no chance Marine will be on TV, any non league team home to a league game will be more attractive to ITV/ESPN.

Pretty much nailed on we will be on TV though i'd imagine.

I wonder if the proper Supermarine fans treat the extra crowd with as much disdain as we do when people turn up in droves because we're playing Leeds.

They are of much less importance to me than Town or England but fair play to them. They've done bloody well to be where they are considering they had one foot in the grave in the summer. I'd like to see them do well. They're no threat to Town and it would be good to see them give the Scummers a good shoing in a few years whilst we consolidate in the Championship.

Let's be fair it's a shit draw.

But to be honest, based on the fact that we are one of the bigger teams in the cup at this stage there aren't many good fixtures that we could get that we don't play in a league game anyway, the possible exceptions being Marine or the Pox (who are out anyway Cheesy ),

So all you can hope for is a Home ( No ), and/or a winable ( Yes ) draw.

Until we (hopefully) get to the 3rd round there isn't much chance of getting a decent cup game.

It would go against what the club has told the fans.

Only just got in from work and seen the draw, personally I think it's a great draw.

Selfishly, it's an excuse to go back to Sussex on the piss the night before, but even without that it's a new ground for many, a decent away end, an easy drive (M4, M25 and M23 - really simple for those who are moaning and shouldn't take more than 2 hrs), close enough for us to take a decent mob and just a proper cup tie.

Cheer the fuck up, book your train tickets or whatever, get pissed and enjoy a decent day out.

PS. If we are on TV...pretty please can it be the Friday night or Saturday evening, not the fucking Sunday Lunch, thanks.

You mean as you and some others do, it's by no means a royal we. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned, it means a better atmosphere and more importantly more money for the club which benefits the club.

Marine appear to think the same. They go out of their way to attract fans of other clubs, especially Town, with their discounted rates for season ticket holders of other clubs. Plus I think you'll find the majority of "proper" Marine fans support Town to some degree as well - at the game I heard plenty of "proper" Marine fans updating each other with the Town score. Good chance "proper" Marine fans are some of the "plastics" that turn up when we play Leeds.

Am I the only person who thinks the "proper" vs "plastic" argument is stupid?

You're the only one who has bitten.

Though there's been more talk of them rather than our own club which I do find irksome.
