I texted my Pompey-supporting mate on tuesday to tell him Guy Whittingham, Ian Woan and Steve Cotterill were all at the game. He replied by saying that they're looking to offload Nugent in January as he's one of the highest earners.
me putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 23, deduced that they might be watching Austin? or Asinyah? Whittingham has been to watch us quite a lot this season.

Hull had a scout watcing Austin as well. To be honest with our crap form and position I imagine there's probably most of the Championship and some Premiership clubs coming to watch Austin as they'll think he won't want to stick around in a relegation battle and think they might be able to get him with a cheeky bid.

agreed, but seemed odd that Whittingham, Woan and Cotterill were all there. It's one thing sending scouts, another thing bring the whole management team.

There is of course a possibility that they were watching their own player in Matt Richie.

doubt all three would go to see him again, they've seen him in action, and in games.

I'd imagine every club in the top two divisions has had a look at Austin by now, either sending a scout or looking at video.
The only thing that does surprise me is the lack of genuine interest so far. Only a matter of time though and unless we're pushing for the playoffs come January he'll be gone in sixty seconds.

There's been rumours floating round on some of the Pompey boards that they're hoping to do a swap deal Austin for Ritchie. Obviously I'd imagine if there's any truth in that, it would be Ritchie + cash, but it may well be bollocks. We should send Charlie a picture of Andronikou to put him off the idea, just in case

Do you really think PORTSMOUTH have a million? They are still only paying creditors 20p in the pound.

Fucking hate pompey.
Austin isn't that stupid I reckon, but who knows, they might be throwing stupid money around they don't have and racking up a few millions debt again with no intention of ever being able to pay it off.
I guess eventually the banks will stop lending to football clubs? probably already have most of them

and it will be Swindon getting shat on by Portsmouth and possibly only getting 20p in the £ (if not less) If all boards stopped doing business with clubs like portsmouth they would not be able to cheat

Hull are in deep shit and Pompey are just coming out of the financial shit, even though they've still got our old mate AA there as the administration supervisor.
Of course, it is one thing trying to offload Nugent....they've still got to find someone to take him off their hands.
A bit like Hull with all their players, especially Jimmy Bullard, where they didn't put relegation clauses into the players contracts, so Bullard is still picking up £50k a week.

Correct, or they don't get their 'football share' back.
