Bristol City is not being run sustainably.  It's clear as day that, without Lansdowne funding their losses of £1m per month, they would not be surviving in the Championship.

Wow, thank god for that. For some reason I read the first post as meaning we lost £12m last year. Shitty can afford to be ran like that though because they're a sleeping giant and one day will wake up and lord it over all.

And to think that some of our fans want us to be run the same way.

As has been pointed out it's not sustainable and as soon as Lansdowne (or any other rich owner) gets fed up of pumping their own money down the drain the clubs then have to find another rich kid with more money than sense or find themselves in deep shit.

It's not often you find a very wealthy fan who is prepared to blow a small fortune without any return

City and 85+ other professional clubs.

Football is bankrupt from top to bottom, I think about this far too much at the moment and I still haven't been able to figure out what the answer is,

I think when you strip it all away it is perpetuated by the unrealistic expectations of us, the fans. (and the fact you can get away with running a club into the ground then starting again and getting away scott free relative to any other business in the world.)

Its a business that isn't a business. And the customers aren't customers they're pissed up monkeys who demand the earth for fifteen quid a week. I include myself in that.

I'm not trying to justify any club being run at a loss, but there's a difference between not breaking even and losing £12m in one year

BCFC (2010) has a certain ring to it - almost unique but not quite.

They only managed to finally get promoted when Landsdowne started stuffing millions into city.

Hopefully we are closing the gap on them in terms of support.

Totally unsustainable. Typical 1 season wonder team.

And Londsdowne has threatened to walk away if the stadium goes tits up which is looking likely at this stage.

Fuck me if I'd been asleep that long I'd worry I was never gonna wake up.

Reading this just reinforces the point that if we are to progress, it has to be done organically.

We might be a bit shit on the pitch atm...but Wilson is capable of turning it around....the Board and fans need to provide a stable and supportive environment for this to happen.

Danny Wilson's Red and White Army...

Could we change our name to Swindon Town Manatees?
