Hughes gone just before lunch to Bresnan, brilliantly timed breakthrough, Collingwood takes the catch. 55/1

Edit: Tremlett, not Bresnan.

134/4 at the close with plenty of rain breaks...a good start, glad to get Khawaja out as he looks streets ahead of the other "new" Aussies (Hughes, Smith)

You can't really judge new batsmen until the bowlers have had a bit of a look....Hughes for example scored 75 on debut, then a century in each innings in his second test, as the Aussies won a series in SA 09.  Shit since....

It's incumbent on the Aussies to win, so losing time to rain is to our advantage...

Well, after a thumping Swindon win, and a 9 dart finish in the final of the darts, now hoping for a good day in the cricket. A couple of early wickets and we can roll over the Aussies for around 200.

Went to bed at 190-8. Thought they'd be all out for 200!

Hopefully the extra 90 for the last couple of wickets wont come back to haunt England.

Nicely balanced match this still, Cook's still there and Collywobbles is due 200. T20 mode Strauss earlier on was a little odd, 60 off 58 balls.

Lets hopefully bat the Aussies out of the game by batting all day.

By the way Swanny's latest video diary is up...and Swindon gets a mention :

Think M,Johnson showed how to bat on this pitch.....Strauss did the same, not a pitch to fook about on...though Cook could prove me wrong.
