Oh, and someone ban IOB from this part of the forum, the kid ain't got a clue!

There's still 4 days to go....plenty of time for the England ISOB's more familiar with to show up. Let's just wait and see...

Very true and I never said we'd get stuffed just that we took a big risk so dont see why everyone is getting on their high horse again. I find it quite ammusing.

Still the Aussies have obviously been taking batting lessons from our performance in Perth. Bless them.

Yeah like the Aussies would wait and see what happens if they skittled us out for less than 100 on the opening day. Sure, they're more used to such occasions but that makes it that much more enjoyable.

So with that in mind I choose to enjoy it thank you very much Wink

That's what makes them Aussies....not English.  You'll be whooping at golf next and shouting get in the hole...

Yes, I've never seen an Englishman over celebrate anything before it's conclusion.

Behave yourself Reg, I've not said we'll win the test. If we lose this test I can at least say I enjoyed the good times while it lated! Whitewash last time we were in Oz, remember?

One of their worst innings. I shall enjoy this days play.

Brilliant captaincy last night...the end changes.....i like the fact the back up bowlers know they have to perform to get a sniff.
Cook is going to become a legend if he stays fit for the next ten years.

Well done England.

Shut up Reginald, if we don't win comprehensively from here I'll suck you off.

You have seen the scoreboard?

If I was him I'd be more worried about having other things in my mouth than words.

What a famtastic scorecard to wake up to! I was happy enough with 150 odd for none before I realised we'd bowled them out as well! Freaking wondeful!

Quote of the day though :

Don't agree with the decision to bowl first though...

Aussies 98 all out, their lowest EVER score at the MCG in their first innings.

Looking back at Perth, the difference was Hussey as most of the batsmen struggled, and Johnson actually bowled like he can do, but he reverted back to type today, and bowled shite.

I think Mike Atherton said after Adelaide that the Aussie bowling attack needs assistance with the wicket to bowl sides out, and that is why they liked the pace and bounce at Perth, as either side of the Perth test the Aussie bowlers have taken 6 wickets for the cost of nearly 1300 runs (517-1d, 620-5d and 157-0 so far).

I would now bat for as long as possible, preferably to around tea on the third day with a big lead, subject to the weather, and let Swanny and co. do the business.

Surely quote of the day goes to Geoff Boycott who said after Watson's second drop that England would "never win this game, and I know what I'm talking about" or something similar. I notice some cheeky producer has left that whole conversation on the highlights package on the BBC site, wonderful.

I remember him saying something about 'they'll be 100 for nothing at lunch if we keep serving up tripe like that' during Tremletts first over!

Just noticed these quotes on the BBC site :

Twitter   England's world number one golfer Lee Westwood: "Will somebody please pinch me! I must wake up soon! I knew I shouldn't have eaten all that cheese! 98 all out? Have there been any calls for a Shane Warne comeback yet? It's about that time!"

BBC Radio 5 live's Mark Pougatch   On Twitter: "Very surprised the Barmy Army haven't started singing, 'Is this your fire drill?' at the departing Australian fans. MCG emptying fast - actually emptying faster than every Englishman's wallet over here given the exchange rate."

HALT!

This enjoyment is simply not English, so we must stop proceedings post haste until a result is in so we can all shake each others hands and say "Splendid, very good."
