Well 2 games into the new 4-5-1 and both home games I beat Sheff Weds 3-1 and beat Dag & Red 1-0 with Corrie Evans being sent off early in the game, all I did was play an attacking game and didn't change any other settings on the tactic, seems to be working so far, watch this space....

Try 4-5-1 with Attacking midfielders right and left. Bebe. O'Brien, Dossevi and Myrie-Williams all play well for me there. Charlie/Koroma through the middle. You can vary the width/tempo/defensive line with it to suit other teams. You can control and contain games quite well with 4-5-1 and I do seem to score a fair few goals.
tried this with 4-4-2 because bebe said fucking no.I stuffed norwich 7-2 thanks to a dossevi and steve howard hattrick and a jennison myrie-williams 30 yarder

Ah well, tried 4-5-1 and won the first 3 games then lost 5 games in a row, now they want my head and all the players are revolting against me and my management style! Lucas, Cuthbert, Austin, O'Brien, Douglas and Ferry all have told me they dont like my style of management! and I am currently sitting in 12th place after 18 games!

Going to try some new stuff tactics wise as the board keep saying that The Swindon Town hierarchy appear to be losing patience with me! I may even get the sack before the 6 month demo is over!

I started off 4-4-2 and won 5 games in a row, then I lost 4 in a row, then I changed to 4-5-1 and won 3 games in a row then I lost 5 in a row then I changed to a 4-3-1-2 narrow width formation and have won 4 games in a row and drew the last 1 of the 1/2 season.

Got through to the 4th round of the League Cup beating Everton away, Bolton home on the way, area semis of the JPT and qualified for the 3rd round of the FA cup.

Talk about fickle results!

I never brought any player in after the 1st game of the season either so I worked with the squad I had after making a few pre season signings of frees and loan players.

My 1st experience is that when you are down it kicks you in the balls and when you are up you are really on an up, its almost like when you have lost a game or 2 then change the formation and you can get back onto winning ways again.

I finished 12th scored 33 and let in 29 with 11 wins, 1 draw and 10 defeats. Talk about up and down!

Signed Adam Bogdan, Corrie Evans and Jose Baxter on loan and signed Derek Geary, Ben Thatcher, Sam Sodje, Andy Butler, Rui Marques (awful) Chris James(5 goals in 18), James Ashmore, Eddie Johnson, David Foley(5 goals in 9) and Ngo Baheng(9 goals in 20).

Couldn't get Austin playing well but Dossevi hit some good form averaging 7.17 and scoring 6 goals.

Will try again from afresh with a few better loan signings, maybe Bebe and getting in Koroma and Steve Howard in maybe.

Bebe has been a star for me. Adriano Basso is available on a free too. Felt bad about signing him, but he is leading star Championship. Sodje and Alexandro Silva have been great on frees too. Other good loan players are Adam Clayton, Jordan Spence and Simon Church/ Just signed Koroma up front and he's got 4 in 3 games.

Ah that makes sense as I tried before the season started.

Started a new 6 month game to see how it pans out with a few of the mentioned signings and going for the 4-3-1-2 narrow width from the start.
