Howdy

For christmas I was thinking of getting my parents a proffesionally done photo of me and my brother and sister, because my mums always moaning she has no decent photo's of us.

Problem with this is I have absolutley no idea what this will involve, how much it will cost etc. Anyone got any recommendations/done this sort of thing before? I don't really want to spend a lot of money, though may be able to split the costs with my sister.

Thanks guys/gals/things

Me and my 2 sisters got one done for my Dad a few years back. We had it done at Debenhams and they framed it and everything. I was really pleased with the job and it wasn't very much from recollection.

Personally, I'd avoid those studio photo's. Never liked them.

Far more practical is a personalised calendar. I did one for my mum and dad a few years back with pictures of my niece and nephew. They loved it, easily the best present I've ever bought them. Took a fair bit of time selecting the pictures, cropping them, touching them up and arranging them but well worth it. Got it printed by Apple, excellent quality and not that expensive.

I'm working on a photo mosaic for this Christmas. Select a decent photo then make a mosaic with all the other family pictures I've got. Needs to be a pretty big print for it to work properly though.

I had a look on the debenhams website but only found photo frames. I remember have a picture taken there before, but I was about 7 so wasn't sure if they still did them

There aren't enough (decent) photo's of any of us to do those things jonny!

brilliant, thanks. I'll give them a bell soon. Do you know roughly what sort of price's i'd be looking for for a decent sized photo and frame? The website looks a bit crap

We recently bought a photo through a portrait place, I think it's 9" x 6" and without a (proper) frame it came to £26.

All depends on how much you want to spend. For me I'd spend a bit more. Tobias Robins in old town is an amazing photographer and a friendly chap to boot. He will never hard sell, as his work does all the selling.
