So Saints get arsey about Shrewsbury wanted to charge everyone full whack for FA Cup tickets and initially prevented Saints offering discounted tickets, for their "most loyal fans". Not that the game won't attract anyone you understand.

Saints take this pissing and whinging to the FA and the FA side with Saints, is this fair?

I think it's fair enough that Saints should want to lower prices for a game against opposition from a lower division. Why should Saints fans have to pay £25+ for a game against Shrewsbury?

Having said that, the article you've linked to is pathetic and if I was a Saints fan I'd find it slightly embarrassing. It's also rather ironic hearing Saints moan about clubs taking controversial measures just to line their own pockets.

I can see both side of the argument. A big purse for the Shrews doesn't come along too often. Of course they wanted to cash in

But if it were us, I'd be dissapointed at paying full price for a round 1 game against lower league opposition. So I think the right result was reached. Even if the Saints have spat their dummy in the PR.

Like Batch says, valid arguments on both sides. But the way Southampton have gone about publicising it shows a real lack of class from the headline ("Taming of the Shrews") on. Hope Shrewsbury dump them out on their arses. This Nicola Cortese or whatever his name is doesn't exactly have a light golden touch when it comes to PR, does he?

I've contacted Saints and told them i will pay well over the odds for an edited DVD with Charlie skipping around the keeper at St Marys (on a loop).

As other have said, nothing wrong with either club's viewpoint or the matter being settled by the FA. By what the fuck were Southampton thinking when they put that article on their website and worded it like that, there was absolutely no need for it whatsoever.

Southampton used to be a nice club, but they've become complete arseholes since the take over.

Just like to add that Poole didn't increase their prices for the visit of Hayes and Yeading
