I really hope something turns up for you soon.

Will you get the money you're owed for September or does it now have to go through the receivers?  Must be really difficult financially if you haven't been paid and I assume if the company's gone bust you won't get any redundancy money either?

Receivers have not been officially appointed yet. Septembers wages and redundancy should be coming from the government hopefully

Some of the redundo I will be spending on Subbuteo players

I got some money back eventually via the government - had to sign up for jobseekers allowance and fill in about a million forms - you get the bare minimum but it's better than nothing and you do get it eventually

If they haven't paid you then haven't they breached the contract i.e. you can walk right into another job?

Good luck though!

I was in a very similar position recently.

I looked at it like this...

1) get any job to get earning again

then

2) look for a good job

So far I've achieved step 1 but not step 2.

Sounds exactly like my plan as a graduate, and I have also achieved step 1

An odd comparison, given that most people don't earn anywhere near what footballers do, (even those in League 1).

That's a ridiculous comparison. A contract is for a known fixed term, the risk of it to being renewed is known.

Sorry ,don't understand that argument...are you saying that because a player knows when he'll be out of work that is better than not knowing your goint to be out of work and unemployed with no money to pay bills

Yes of course it is. You can plan accordingly.

It's a pretty sterile argument, really. Being out of work is shit no matter what. Being able to plan for it and so put some money aside does make it easier but it's still shit. Anyone out of work (who actually wants to work) has my greatest sympathy.
