Hello everybody!

Another big game between our two teams tomorrow and obviously your lads will be well up for this one. League positions at this early stage don't really mean much so basically anything can happen. We certainly have better players than last season with more experience and much more skill, having said that we've not exactly gelled together properly yet but there are signs that things are improving. To date, we've looked more like a team of talented individuals so we're all hoping it'll come together pretty soon.

Clearly you have a very good side, you're at home and it wouldn't surprise me if you take all three points if I'm honest. However, we're much more capable and equipped to step up to the mark and we have players who can cause teams serious problems if you let us play. So it might all depend on how you approach the game. Teams who've done well against us have usually employed spoiling tactics where they've compressed play, closed us down and tried to catch us with quick raids. I realise Swindon always look to play good football in any case so heres to an excellent game! Clap

Hmmm...I forgot that you're almost Leeds Utd reserves! Only joking! Wink

I'll admit Douglas is a very good player at this level but we have a choice of midfielders Graham Cary, Damien Johnson, Joey Gudjonsson & Scott Arfield who are all excellent players. Plus wide players Gary Roberts, Anthony Pilkington and Lee Croft. And Allan Lee, Jordan Rhodes, Lee Novak and Joe Garner to chose from up front we have a very tidy squad. Cheesy

I juts hope we can 'click' as a team! Roll Eyes

Yeah! In fact I live less the two miles from Elland Road. They're our massive neighbours just as Oxford are yours! Grin

Yeah! Should be a brilliant game! I'm travelling down to my mate's place in Banbury tonight and then on the game tomorrow. Thinking of travelling by train to the game but 1hr 20mins and £20 return seems an incredibly long time and silly price, might drive!  Wink

Ace, my mate is a big Posh fan and is convinced they are going to get promoted this season. You've already been beaten by them this season, did you go and what did you make of them? We are playing them soon which will be a good test as well.

Uddersfield without doubt a very stern test for Town, lets hope you have a couple sent off like you did a few seasons ago.
Not trying to be gay, but I've always liked the Terriers supporters.

That's the only game we've lost this season and what a cock-eyed game it was too! Leading and coasting 0-2 on 35 minutes we looked like we had the points secured. Then they scored in added tome just before the break - Boyd, who else? They scored again just a few minutes into the second half to level it and we just folded basically and lost it 4-2. Hardly seen such a turn around game. That said, we did exactly that last Saturday against Yeovil! I noticed 'The Posh' did something similar at home to Oldham last Saturday, trailing 0-2, scored just before the break again and then hammered them 5-2. Bizarre! Cheesy

I think we have an improved side this season with more capable players. Lee Clark wants us to pass the ball and play with a high tempo and level of intensity. When interviewed that's more or less all he talks about. When the opposition have the ball he expects us to work our bollocks off to get it back quickly or force them into errors. And when we have it he want lightening quick passing movements to open up their defence. He reckons if we play like that we'll beat anybody in this league and I have to say, I agree with him. The problem is increasingly, other teams realise this and match us in terms of effort, then it comes down to who wants it most and ultimately, who has the better players. Roll Eyes

Yeah, I noticed that game, seems they are comeback specialists at home.

I fully expect Posh and Huddersfield to be up there come the end of the season. Hopefully we can figure in that mix as well.

FWIW I think it will be 1-1 this weekend.

We've sold our allocation of 3300 for Tuesday nights away game at Rochdale so I expect in these days when money's tight people pick their games. I guess we'll have about 700/800 at yours.

Why do I support Huddersfield Town? Well, my first season was 1959/60 so basically I'm an old git and can remember when Leeds were absolutely nothing. (just like they are now! Wink) Apart from which I was born in Dewsbury which is about halfway between the two. My dad was a Town fan in any case but Huddersfield were always renown for playing good attacking football. So much so that where I live these days some guys in my local pub who are about 70/75ish can remember when coaches used to run from pubs in the Leeds area to Town home matches. They were always Leeds fans first and foremost but they liked how we played. I guess it was like that some years ago, indeed I used go see Bradford City now and again when I was a kid! Yes
