Coxy has scored the winner for est Brom against Man City, and Northampton has just gone into the lead at Anfield in extra time.

By Alan McInally, who's watching the game for Sky, he's been outstanding. I see Paul Ince's son has just come on for Liverpool.

Fair play to Northampton but a half-empty Anfield must take a little bit of the edge off.
Actually, forget that, a win's a win right?

Interesting question really - the League Cup has descended into being a second-rate competition in which Prem Lge teams field almost completely reserve teams or second-string anyway. So, with more and more examples of lower league teams beating PL teams, what do these wins actually mean? Is the humiliation of a Lge 3 not very good team beating, theroetically one of the top four clubs in the country, worth it for the PL teams? It hardly builds up love between fans and team, and in a season that doesn't look too hot for either Liverpool or Everton, it is surely fuel on the fire?

Crawley must be right up there (with Basingstoke, Basildon, Gloucester, Guildford, Woking, Telford, Wakefield, Warrington...actually, I'm ruining my point as I keep thinking of more places) as one of the larger towns without a League club.
Hope the Dons win though. We all want to see them up against the Franchise sooner or later.

When that happens, I hope it's televised as it'll be the most anticipated game for years...bar Swindon v Pox !!!

They could probably fill Wembley for that. With 5000 dons and 75000 others

Would you have told anyone if you'd turned up at Crawley? Be honest now.
