I think it was a name that was mentioned at the end of the season on here, personally I think it's too much of a gamble with his injury record...

I was just saying that the only thing I'd heard about him was that he was a player mentioned on here as a possible replacement for Sammy, I think it's a fairly probable signing if it's true, it makes sense after all.

i think its possible but only if Parkin goes (which looks likely now) we would have Parkin's wage for Bridges. anything less than Parkin's wage and we wouldnt be able to afford him. it would be a great signing in my opinion. i dont care about his injury record.

Swindon were linking with Bridges as soon as the season had closed and Angy King said at the same time he quashed rumors over Luke Beckett that Bridges wouldn't be coming to the county ground due to Swindon not being able to afford his wages.

plus with his injury record its a gamble i don't think the board would be willing to take. Granted if he is fit he would be a wonderfull signing but if injured and on high wages it would be aweful and swindon connot afford the risk

agree with that.
Bridges when playing well would be supurb for us but several months not playing and being paid X amount would cripple us.
unless you could put an injury clause into his contract???

Bridges for Parkin would be a great swap. Injury record though for bridges as we all know isn't good though.

I suppose if nobody else is willing to take a punt on Bridges.....and he's prepared to accept a 20K a week pay cut and take a month by month contract he could be worth a look.

I have to say if Bolton couldn't reserrect his career I can't see many clubs willing to take the gamble, Swindon included.  Couple with the notion that he's a Northern boy I can't see him coming here.

Also, would he really be any better than what we've already got?  I'd rather see another hot youngster - Nathan Tyson if we've got the money would do nicely! - to challenge Fallon and Roberts for a first team place.

Assuming we losing Parkin, Fallon and Roberts is a dream pairing.  The big lump to throw it to, and quick footed Roberts with the speed and flair to create chances.  The reason Fallon struggled is he is a similar player to Parkin, but never got the chance to forge a partnership with Roberts.  I for one hope Fallon gets his chance again like he did last season at the beginning of this before we opt for a big name signing.  Up front doesn't really need attention other than perhaps a back up player.  The midfield and defence however, certainly does need attention!

the only problem with fallon is that i can't see him hitting 20 goals next season, if he does i will streak on the pitch at the end of the season.

Plays in midfield and his name is Tommy Miller,

If Fallon gets 20 goals next season I'll fuck Whits on the centre circle at half time of the last game of the season*

*ie: it ain't gonna happen.

We need a replacement for SSP, not rely on what we've got (Can't see Fallon and Roberts getting the goals we'll need to stay up) and I hope to god King isn't going to have to trawl the depths of non-league again. He's going to have to spend some cash, if he doesn't get any from SSP's sale we're up shit street.

(IMO which I hope is wrong)
