Just thought I'd have a nose on the official Southampton website. As well as the 3 mins highlights which many of you will have seen on STFC Player, there is an 11 minutes highlights package called 'all the angles'. Absolutely worth a look as it shows much much more and has the added bonus of the BBC Solent commentary from the night as well.

Remember that your login details for STFC player cover every football league club's website (except Leeds and few of the big ones!).

Wish we could put together something of this quality...

They put that quality together because they charge for it and so have to justify the cost - tis impressive but compared to the subbuteo re-inactment it is actually crap

ive just watched it. Absolute quality. Especially Austins run into the box, Ok it was a bit of a dive in the end, but the close control while he was dribbling was fantastic. Loved Ferry laughing his head off at their player behind the ref as well.

I swear you can see O'Brien making the grass catch fire in his wake for that third goal.

Thanks for that. Loved seeing a close up of McGoverns little backheel to Amankwaah before the second.

Also don't know how it wasn't a red when Austin got hacked down on the edge of the box. Austin looked really quick there.

After seeing those highlights I can tell Southampton were shit, but it looks like us back to our fast paced game that we are so good at.

Well that was an eye opener Huh? I assumed all FL clubs got the same sort of crappy 2.5 minutes of 'highlights' and utter, total dross commentary. Obviously that is not the case. I feel an e-mail to Nick Watkins coming on asking why we can't have something similar.

I still can't get over how quick O'Brien is. Great ball from the much maligned Timlin as well.

One thing I did notice from those highlights was that Ferry was everywhere. Got forward, tracked back, hussled the midfield. Fantastic stuff.

And O'Brien certainly has some pace. The Saints player had about 20 yards on him and O'Brien still made it to the ball first!

Great highlights, good commentary as well - better than the BBC's effort.

I suppose our STFC Player coverage is not as comprehensive as we don't have so many permanent cameras placed about the County Ground. Shame really cos it's certainly good seeing all the angles!

Good to see Pericard immediately go to Austin and O'Brien when he scored, to acknowledge their efforts in setting up his two strikes.

Cheers for posting that.

Would be great if STFC player had that kind of footage, but I guess that's the benefit of being a bigger club.

Really emphasizes what a quality performance that was. Austin's run into the box was awesome, and the skills from McGovern to set up his goal ... quality.

Commentators were pretty unbiased too ... fair play to Southampton FC.

Anyone care to share their player logins so those of us without subscriptions can see it ?
