the transfer window's about to slam shut

Why does the transfer window always, always have to 'slam' shut? Can't some one just close it normally?

The handle overlaps the frame. Poor design.

Just been chatting to my Saints supporting mate and hes absolutely gutted and he says 80% of the fans actually backed Pardew to do the job and is convinced as many are that he was told to leave after wanting to chat to Villa.

I asked him who is being mentioned and apparently Hoddle, Tisdale and O'Neill(no chance IMO) but the favourite is an Italian manager with experience is lined up by the board already, no names mentioned apart from Zola (not exactly experienced) but it aint gonna happen before tomorrows game so we may have an advantage if the Saints fans turn on their board as they may well do.

Saints fans are saying Pardew asked for permission to speak to Villa, so they sacked him.

Pardew would like Villa....few years back on  a work thing I was given a ground tour of the Madejski....the home dressing room was painted claret and blue, apparently Pardew's favourite colours as a West Ham fan...

Entitled to talk with a bigger club surely without the sack. Talking looking isnt going there.  This is surely a big mistake, Southampton are not gunna get that sort of loyalty.  If Danny  was eyeing up a role at a larger club, and wanted to talk with them im sure we would not sack him, would we, we know football is dog eat dog. Hes ( Pardew )  has just won 4-0 at City,  surely that should have earnt him another month in the job. Villa is a big job and if he felt he had a chance of it he had to give it a go, no one should blame him for that. Going by this Danny had better watch his step a bit, there must be other clubs looking at him,  and if he shows interest  Suicide

tis football nature, by asking for permission to talk to a club means that you are not 100% happy in your own job and are looking for pastures new.

If Danny asked for permission to talk to a bigger club I too would expect him to be refused and possibly even sacked, its not unusual at all in football.

The Italian Chief Exec wanted to get rid of him a few months ago, and if he puts an Italian in charge it'll be like QPR a few years ago...and it really worked there didn't it !!

I hate Saints with a passion, but i think they have made the right move.

Hes a poor manager who couldnt even get Saints into the playoffs last season.  Couldnt see them making the top 2 this season, but with a decent manager in charge, they probably will do now
