I've been at work all day, just read all this.
Fuck. I can't see a win any time soon either. Good points posted about what worked before and was not broken: Kev/JPM, Dougie/Ferry. What is broken: Cuthbert/Greer, Austin/Paynter.

Main issue is that the players we lost over the summer: Paynter, Greer, Sheehan, Ward have either not been replaced at all or the replacements have been inadequate for example Michael Rose who is honestly one of the poorest fullbacks i have ever seen. The other new signings have also flattered to deceive: Prutton, Caddis, Ball and as for Ferry what has he got to do to get into the team? The combo of Ferry and Douglas worked well last year so why change what is not broken?
Dougie is another point in question. He is a shadow of the player he was last year, i am beginning to wonder if he cannot do the captains role and make the contribution on the pitch that we have come to expect from him. We miss Greer's organisation badly, as we seem devoid of a leader and any sort of organisation.
Pericard- cannot see him getting anywhere close to filling Paynter's boots.
Hope we sign some decent players in the next 3 days or it may be a long and hard winter. Hope for Danny's sake he can turn this round as with the budget he has Fitton and the board ( and fans) expect an awful lot more.

Can't understand wny AOB was taken off, we only looked dangerous when he was skinning the right back and putting in consistantly good balls by his standards. Plenty of tossers cheered the decision so some people were happy.

Very frustrating afternoon again. Similar to the Brighton game, a poor referee and the fact i hate losing to these cunts.
Didn't really look like we wanted anything out of the game to be honest, we're still lacking creativity. Very hard to take any real positives out of it, but Lucas and O'brien definitely helped that cause.
Kept in the game by Lucas and some more of his superb saves. We really are lucky to have such a good keeper, it's just a shame the rest of the team couldn't follow his example and show real effort and desire. Definite man of the match for us if we're actually gonna bother naming one.
The defence were generally good first half. But the lack of leadership at the back showed when we not only conceded both goals from set pieces, but we conceded both goals from CONSECUTIVE set pieces. Really in need of a commanding centre half with leadership qualities. Rose slightly improved from last week, but is very poor in distribution. Caddis was poor, both in the air and on the floor, but still better than whatever the fuck Amankwaah contributed today.
As for the midfield, well i really fail to see what Prutton offers us. He seems lazy and sloppy, and could have got numerous yellow cards today. The fact that he's now suspended for tuesday (or saturday?) was a minor positive to come out of today. O'brien for me was the best of a poor midfield. Really notice an improvement in him, and was astonished to hear boos when he was subbed, i duly stood and applauded him.
Up front Dossevi again showed potential, but was subbed early yet again. Austin looked jaded, and definitely not at his best. I again tried to be optimistic when Pericard came on, but he showed little to warrant a starting place for the next game.
Overall, a poor performance in which we were lucky to go in one up, and lucky not to be on the other end of a thrashing. Experienced leader at the back required urgently, some creativity in the middle a neccesity, Ferry to partner Douglas also needed and a decent performance in the JPT to not only boost our confidence, but give the team a distraction from our lacklustre league perfomances so far.

Same mistake DW made against Orient, our only threat is going to be from the wings...

The cheer from some idiots (mostly in the block nearest the goal) was louder than the cheer for our goal.

AOB got some serious stick from people round me. A couple of blokes were comical with it, shouting for him to wherever the ball was, no matter where it was. He would be blamed for attacks down our right, literally everything! I think he looked like our best threat personally.

Just got in. What a frustrating afternoon. Every time I built a sandcastle my nearly 2 year old son full on belly flopped on it. I had flags and everything waiting, but no it wasn't to be.
On the plus side leaving at 5:40pm we missed the mad rush and managed an 80Mph journey home. 3 1/2 hours from Newquay including a coffee stop and the god forsaken Bridgewater services. Now to shower off the sand ... ---
Oh yeah, footy. Godmanit. Leaking too many goals. We know scoring is an issue in that Autin and Paynter got them all last season. But WTF is going on with the defending. Is it a pure back 4 issue, or is it the midfield being far less effective at offering protection.
Make no mistake, the season is only just starting and is easily retrievable. But I'd have hoped for some signs of improvement by now. Doesn't sound like its happening from the match reports. Still we may see some new blood soon.
