Maybe I am being too hasty in my thoughts, I just feel really disappointed with the way things are going.  When we went a goal up today, I thought it might be the turning point. What are your thoughts? Do you think the current team including new players need to be given longer to gel together?

Think we need to be two goals up to give em a bit of confidence

I think we need a new left back and to give the tried and tested central midfield partnership of Ferry/Douglas and right side partnership of Amankwaah/McGovern a go.

But not a lot is going right at the moment and the fans are pointing fingers all over the place. Another striker is something being talked about for example, but we have four players who can play there. Many could hardly contain their excitement at the last attacking capture either (Dossevi).

We lack a defensive base which we had last season.
We lack energy and movement which we had last season.
We've struggled to create meaningful chances throughout any game.

But the thing for me...this was something we were doing last season and something key players we still have were able to do last season. There is no reason why we can't play as well this year.

Personally I think the player we're missing the most is Paynter.

I just don't believe that this team is yet performing at its potential.  I think the 20th place - and no wins - after 4 league games is an aberration.  Maybe I'm being a little naive...but don't think I am.  Danny needs more time to sort this out, and I think he will.  Lots of players sub par at the moment.  Something should click soon.

But yes...maybe a little more competition at the back would be no bad thing.

This simply isnt good enough at the back.

Brentford should have put 3 past us last week, and they are relegation fodder, got beat at home 3-1 by Rochdale today. Hartlepool demolished by Wednesday at home. In fact I dont think any of the teams weve played will be challenging at the end of the season except maybe Brighton. Fucking Alex Revell, Orient at home what a joke.

Going forward we havnt been great either, but that can wait. Weve been talking up players like Morrison and Lescinel but they havnt been up to it. Caddis has been going missing in games, Rose has had a terrible start down here.

Singling out a player, our biggest problem is Prutton. Ive never thought he was particularly special, but he definately does. The way he stood hands on hips when the subs board went up for Ferry spelt trouble. He's not quick enough and doesnt get enough tackles in. His passes are too defensive and he doesnt play far enough up the pitch. Basically Ferry is a better player.

The transfer window is still open and its not too late to offload Prutton. It would be best for all parties. He should be on the bench and Im glad hes suspended!

Not fucking happy. And I didnt even go.

He didn't really start scoring until October though. Our form wasn't brilliant at the start of last season, but we at least were difficult to beat. This season, so far we have looked pathetically easy to break down. Not sure that changing one or two faces could correct that ploblem. Added to that now will be a severe lack of confidence. Time to get back to doing the simple things right. The complicated will follow.

Got home a few minutes ago.

Not very good at all. The first half was like a reserve friendly, no energy, no movement, no ideas. We improved for a spell in the second half with O'Brien putting in some quality deliveries and the midfield partnership of Prutton and Douglas looking far more promising. Dossevi was our only threat in the first half and was taken off for Pericard who failed to bury a decent chance at a corner. O'Brien was subbed off to the cheers of some of those sat nearby and replaced by Ball who was largely ineffective. Amankwaah looked lost when he came on.

Couldn't see what happened at the corners but given that Baldock scored both, I presume someone had lost their man? Very poor to concede a second goal from another corner straightaway. The defence just isn't right as a unit even though Cuthbert and Morrison both looked solid throughout the game. I think we're too weak in the full-back position, both Rose and Caddis are too attack minded.

We clicked at times today but it was a huge step backwards from last week.

Prutton's second booking was absolutely stupid and foolish in the extreme - not a good example for the younger players.

Disappointed at the abuse O'Brien received today and was embarrassed for the bloke who was berating Wilson and calling for him to be sacked.

i dont buy into this waiting for them gell bullshit.these players have been through the system since they were kids.they know how to play where they do, so it would have been drilled into them.maybe with attacking players you need to build up rapport to a point, but defensively that isn't the case at all.
good players can slot in and perform,as the roles at the back are obvious. the reality of the situation is that the replacements are worse than those who have left.

Agreed. A game or two for them to gel but five? Not unless they all train individually all week.

The replacements haven't stepped up or are non-existent in the case of Greer.

some people keep on about the great season we had last year, well i tend to disagree with that, yes we got to the playoff final, but i would say it was a good half a season, can someone work out how many points we picked up after the leeds away game, yes we beat tranmere but i cant recall many more wins after that Sad

So what of the players who haven't left but are under-performing?

Any team who does the double over Leeds and Saints have had a good season.
I am not getting to worried after five matches...but i have a bad feeling about this with regards DW.

are they though? players poor form is down to opinion.i really think the missing players are the biggest factor.
who is under performing in your opinion?
you have to remember that certain players not being at it can impact on other players games too.look at it as the players being spokes on a wheel.get a few bent spokes and the wheel buckles.

Douglas hasn't been as good, JP hasn't been as good, Cuthbert hasn't been as good, Austin hasn't been as good. That's who isn't performing at the moment as well as they were last season.
