Why do I hate him? Can someone remind me? I just said hello to him in a book shop in Kenilworth but couldn't shake the feeling that I have some deep seated dislike of him because of something he said or did to the club. Can anyone enlighten me?

I think he's just bitter because we beat him in the League Cup final.

He really dislikes us too, not just the LC final but from his days in Brizzle, always putting us down when he was on HTV/Points West.

Bobby Gould really doesn't like Swindon and he's a bitter, washed up, useless cunt of a player and manager. He also applied to manage the Town more than once and never made the short list.

I'd like to echo Chalkie's thoughts.

He's still bitter about '69, and he has managed both Brizzle clubs, and we've turned him down every time he's applied here.

I remember he was the co commentator when we were live on TV vs Oxford a few years ago in the cup.  We lost 1 nil, it was a shit game and he spent 2 hours saying how great Oxford were and how shit we were.

That's why I hate him, have done ever since.

Good to know that my dislike of him isn't irrational. He lives in Kenilworth so if I see him again I'll ask him if he remembers 1969.

Fact is Arsenal used the Swindon defeat a turning point, most of the Arsenal players went on to get double winning medals a season or so later...dont think Gould was part of that though.
Bob Wilson has said more than once that the Town defeat was a catalyst for a more determined effort in later matches.
Gould is one of those managers who couldnt connect with the fans of the teams he managed...let alone opposition fans.

A fate worse than death itself...especially if you're a lorry driver, the roads around the city are so bad you need a 4x4 in places

Go there often.....to be fair the motorway ring road helps when delivering to the City.
Must say though the people are very friendly in Coventry.
