Keith Scott

Keith Scott???  He who scored the winning goal against QPR with a howitzer of a finish?  This was a Gorman master-stroke of a signing and one of the best in Town history.

True, one of a grand total of 4 that season that almost secured our survival in the premiership.

I never understood that it was only Gorman who realised that Scott (Who was playing for Wycombe, then just promoted from the conference) could easily step up straight into the premiership successfully. They must have all been kicking themselves when he proved the doubters wrong.

Although Scott was never Prem class...he was signed by Macari and then Martin O'Neil for the next level down.....2 managers who have a decent track record of talent spotting.

My whole point though was that he wasn't premier league class. His subsequent career would suggest he also wasn't 2nd tier class.

Even Lou Macari and Martin O'Neil can make mistakes.

I remember a game when he just couldn't pass to another player - when he finally managed to lay one off to his strike partner there was possibly the largest cheer I have ever heard at the CG.

But to be fair to him he was a trier...
