Anybody know of a good, honest local TV aerial installer in Swindon?
We have SKy, but every now and again it would be useful to have a second source for when the footy clashes with whatever soap/reality/diy/ rubbish the Mrs is watchng.
However we live in a bit of a dead spot. I am not sure we can get terrestrial freeview so at this stage I'm looking for somebody to tell me yeah or nay and provide a quote.
Better someone recommended than some random 0800 yellowpages advert.
Cheers.

If you're not sure if you can get freeview the best thing to do is check with your neighbours.

Or as you've already got Sky, have you considered a Freeseat box? Just run another couple of cables off the LNB.

Yeah I guess so Sam. That means actually talking to them though!
I think the situation is a little more confused than I said. According to the post code checker we are 'predicted' to get good coverage from one transmitter with less channels, but are fringe for another transmitter with more channels. But the situation changes during each new phase of the switchover!
Think I'll just talk to the neighbour with the biggest aerial!

Yes its a good thought, and that's what I'll do should we not be able to go freeview terrestrial. The advantage of the latter is that its easier to provide multiple TVs with their own independant TV feed (in theory!) so that when the lad gets a bit older we can put a TV in his room we can all watch different channels!

I don't wish to hi-jack, but I live in an area with no terrestrial coverage at all, which is just wonderful if you don't have Sky, or your box breaks like mine did a few days ago. Anyone know of anywhere in Swindon I can pick up a cheap sky box please? Not Sky+ just a normal old thing.

George Roussell. He is in the yellow pages, based in Wotton Bassett. He is a one man band, but has always sorted me out and tends to be a darn site cheaper than the others. He knows his stuff as well.
Google his name and you will find him.

I got a Sky HD box off ebay for ~£60, it all else fails a normal Sky box must be peanuts. But surely someone will have one gathering dust somewhere!?

I'm sure I can find one somewhere, I even "misplaced" one, which was actually better than the one I have. I just left it at work when I decided to stop going.

As I'm moving soon, we want to take our sky. Anyone have an idea for how much, and to have multiroom? Is it cheaper to cancel and resign up?
