Apparently Holloway is set to quit Blackpool. He is pissed off he has had no money to strengthen his squad apparently and had fuck all that will keep them in the Premier League. Blackpool could very well be the first team not to win a single game (you may laugh), I suppose they may surprise us but I expect Blackpool to be the worst team the Premier League has ever seen. Holloway I think knows with the current squad he has no chance of staying up. He failed to sign DJ Campbell, Marlon Harewood and Nicky Butt to get some decent experienced heads in to no avail! 2 Premier League managers gone within a aweek of the seasons starting?

Seems a bit daft, he finally gets a crack at the Premier League and fucks off before it starts though.

Players only just got paid their bonuses for getting to the P.L. this week. I suppose atleast they are not chucking money around to live the dream but they are a squad full of journeymen lower league players. Long season for Tangerine fans for sure.

I would say Trollope is a good candidate to get the chop first this season.

Nothing against Blackpool at all but would love them to concede 101+ we don't want that sort of record.

They were poor to put it midly. Very soft in defence not helped by a young debutant 'keeper I believe. I said to my mate that at this rate he could be the first sacking. Aside from the defence they offered very little going forward and clearly need a striker and a target man. Organisation and morale were distinctly lacking.

That's a bit harsh, given that they just got promoted out of the Championship. They are going to have a very long season that's for sure, but I think the fans realise they can't sustain it so are just looking forward to playing the big teams and getting decent(ish) crowds at Bloomfield Road again. It what happens afterwards that's important.

Oh, and they've signed four players this week. I'm not convinced any of them will set the world alight but I'm sure they'll be slightly stronger for it.

Blackpool were always coming straight back down, but TV money and Parachute payments will keep the club financially sound for years to come if they play it right.Add to that the chance to travel week in week out with a club like Blackpool to the big Premiership clubs, with the occasional shock result thrown in and getting to see your side on Match of the Day every week. I see no reason for Blackpool fans not to enjoy every minute of it,it'd be a laugh.

If we went up to the PL I wouldn't want to see our squad strengthened with spending like Hull, Pompey, Stoke, Sunderland, etc. I'd like to see us go up, collect some money and come back down stronger and financially better off.

Blackpool are not a big club and are not about to start trying to live the dream, you'd hope. I'd like to think they'd do promotion West Brom style, not like the other clubs I mentioned.

Thing is, if you can run a tight ship and keep costs under control then getting promoted and relagated straight away shouldn't be a disaster. Those parachute payments should help you be strong enough to mount another challenge for the next few years.

However I suppose the reality of the gap in Championship and Premiership wages makes things not quite so straight forward.
