There's loads of street parking just outside the town center.

Play spot the red brick building instead, hours and hours of fun.

I wouldn't go on the bus tour, unless you have an otherwise busy day. Baths really not that big a city, and most of the big 'attractions' are all reasonably close to each other. The skyline tour might be alright though, takes you up just out of the city into the hills where the views are quite decent. Also takes you into the university bus circle and bemuses everyone, for no apparent reason whatsoever.

And like others have said. Pubs. Lots and lots of pubs

If the weather is crap and you don't fancy the park and ride, we have a new 700 space car park below the new Southgate Shopping Centre. It isn't cheap, but then again no park here is!

Alternatively, try the train, it's 30 mins from Swindon and our station is only a few minutes walk to the City Ctr.

If the weather is ok, There is usually quite a bit of 'on street' entertainment going on. Or alternatively, if you fancy it, you can always verbally abuse the foreign tourists, especially the kids. They're right little s**ts!

Agree with what everyone has said. Just walk around - and remember to look up as there are lots of interesting details - the Masonic symbols on the houses of the Circus and the vast statue of Victoria on the side of the art gallery. Also a quick walk along the canal beyond Pultney Bridge and back to Widecombe as some time in Victoria Park is always good.

Oh and the pubs. The pubs are as good as you will find anywhere - and on the whole very close together.

I love wandering around Bath when I have some spare time. 20 minutes on the train its good for shopping, sightseeing, pissups etc.

Love Bath, always have. Just spoiled by too many fucking tourists. As many have said, loads of decent pubs, good range of restaurants for all tastes and pockets, theatre, Victoria Park, Abbey, Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge, Prior Park Gardens, decent shops.

If you're there for a weekend, head to Green Park station for the Farmer's Market on Saturday am and pop into the Green Park Brasserie for the Farmer's Breakfast.

I used to have a beverage or two in the Green Park Tavern, I don't think it's there anymore though (I may be wrong?)

Now sadly just a Sainsbury's and a road named after Ivo Peters who photographed the line from end to end over many years.

I love finding out about this stuff - particularly Green Park as I always thought it looked like a railway station but just couldn't envisage there being tracks there or anything. I read about another station in Bath, in the Weston area a little while ago. I think I may be a secret train nerd.
